March 2007 Dog Photo Contest Winners
Can you believe we received over 1200 dog photo entries this month? As always, only ten could win. It was one of the hardest months ever to choose the winners - we'd love to have chosen twenty or thirty winners... but in the end, we had to choose. Many of other excellent photos made our honorable mentions for the contest - be sure to stop by and see them.

Mulligan's Mom says: “This is Mulligan, a purebred golden retriever, celebrating his 1st birthday! He got his name for several reasons: Mulligan is a golfing term meaning "do over". We got Mulligan as a replacement for our 1st golden retriever - he is a "do over" for Skipper. My husband is also a golf pro so this name is fitting for many reasons! These photos are a true testimony that obedience training really does work - just told him to sit and stay and he never ate the cupcake. He is a wonderful pet to our 3 boys and he is currently in training to become a therapy dog.”

Mugsy's Mom says: “My 7 year old rescue puggy Mugsy... he is such a ham and is very tolerant of his mother dressing him up in various outfits. Mugsy has been with us for 2 years now, we adopted him through Northern Illinois Pug Rescue and Adoption. He loves long naps, treats and playing in his yard, he does not like his feline brother or taking baths.”

Chloe's Mom says: “Chloe is a 4 month old Bugg (boston terrier and pug mix). I took this photo on her graduation day of puppy class. It is entitled "beast" because it is a nickname my friend Susie gave her because Chloe really likes to bite! But fortunately she is starting to lose her little needle teeth. Chloe's favorite toys are really anything she can taunt her older Bulldog sister, Lucy, with. She likes to go to the beach and run around and cause havoc. A funny thing about Chloe is she likes to sleep under the covers of the bed like a human with her head on the pillow. She is silly little dog. ”

Harry's Mom says: “Harry is a sweet, fluffy, rambunctious four month old puppy who enjoys running and wrestling with his three brothers. Harry can always be found in the most tranquil places in our yard, be it hiding near the recently sprouted daffodils or sprawled out in the grass, soaking up the sun. In this photo he is found resting in an old tree trunk, contemplating his life as a pup.”
